Chongqing Hechuan Yulong New Town, China

Project Description

Hechuan Yulong New Town is a large development project of more than 5000 housing units and mixed-used functions, from vertical agriculture to Sichuan culture’s urban villages and an incubator for startups dedicated to biotechnologies and Chinese traditional medicine. The master plan mixes green infrastructure, residential and mixed-used development in a logic of re-creating traditional Sichuanese micro-landscapes in a connected and walkable urban environment. The micro-scale of networked pocket parks meets the verticality of the new town and a potential for multi-layer outdoor and indoor urban agriculture. The project is designed in details to be water sensitive and resilient to every season.
