Dakar Airport Energy Park

Project Description

A new energy industry park at the heart of a future Aerotropolis beside the International Airport of Dakar, the Special Economic Zone of Diass (718 ha) will be partly dedicated to new energy vehicles and the future of urban transportation in Africa.  Invested mainly by E-Road Tong China, the first phase aims to build a solar power plant of 500 MW combined with agriculture for residents and workers. Each phase of development will be accompanied by a specific waste and water management plan involving the sharing of resources between buildings. Pedestrian and bike paths linking functions through green corridors are the backbone of the master plan. Energy, food, waste, water, shared logistics and people’s mobility are at the center of each design step for a healthy metabolism of the site in the long-term.
