Project Description

Concentrated on the limited coastline of Benin, the growing conurbation of the Grand Nokoué will have reached 3 million inhabitants by 2025, formed by 3 main cities growing and connecting around the Nokoué Lake: Cotonou, Porto-Novo and Abomey-Calavi. The unstoppable growth of the urban heart of Benin sees multiple large infrastructure projects emerging, such as the new international airport in Glo-Djigbé, a deep sea port and a knowledge new town in Sèmè-Podji and several bridges crossing the rivers and bays. Citilinks advises a wide range of stakeholders from the public and private sectors involved in the transformation of the Grand Nokoué to improve the territorial resilience of the metro area and to develop meaningful urban projects, from green infrastructure to publics and transport networks meetings the needs and specificities of African urbanism.
