Urban Mobility in China

Project Description

This research project, conducted by ProRaum, InnovaPlan and Citilinks for IFMO and BMW Group, analyses the state of urban mobility in four selected Chinese cities, which differ in terms of transport and urban planning: Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Chongqing. The principal objective is to identify the main factors influencing mobility behaviour and choice of transport mode, and to understand their impact on current urban mobility. We have investigated during one year local policies and trends, consulted transport planning bureaus and decision-makers, and organized multiple focus groups with various socio-professional profiles. The results are analysed to discern potential trends and developments in future mobility in China, and can be found in the report online: https://www.ifmo.de/files/publications_content/2017/ifmo_2017_Urban_Mobility_China_en.pdf
